Scholarship Opportunities

The Alaska Hotel & Lodging Association (AkH&LA) is committed to encouraging local hiring within the state's hospitality industry.  As part of that commitment, AkH&LA supports efforts that help to educate and prepare individuals to join Alaska's work force.  The AkH&LA Scholarship Program was established to assist Alaskan students pursuing the education necessary to help them succeed in the hospitality industry.  Scholarships are funded by voluntary donations from AkH&LA members.  We are currently accepting applications for 2017. Professional Development Scholarships
Perfect for individuals currently working at a hotel property who want to advance their career by growing their industry knowledge or skill set, AH&LEF’s professional development scholarships provide assistance for distance learning courses and professional certification. If you are a hotel employee currently enrolled in either of these programs through the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute, then you are eligible to apply for a scholarship.   Application deadlines are quarterly: January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1.
